La Carreta - Hammond, La

La Carreta is a popular restaurant known among the many people that live in Hammond, Louisiana. They are known for their outstanding Mexican Cuisine, beautiful atmosphere and location. La Carreta draws many people through their doors each day. From families, to friends, to coworkers, they gather together to enjoy this amazing restaurant.

There is so much more to this restaurant that you don't know about yet! Here is what the inside looks like. They have many features and different colors that bring the whole place together wonderfully! From the colorful lights to the cool pictures on the wall, it gives the coziest vibe! Not to mention the natural lighting in this place is phenomenal! Their decor matches this perfect chill but spunky and Mexican vibe.

Mexican Food

The Mexican food here is always on point! Today I got everybody's favorite, a chicken quesadilla. This is a quesadilla with Tinga chicken with side of refried beans and rice. Tinga chicken is shredded chicken that is packed with juicy flavor and a little spice. My favorite thing to do is dip my quesadilla in the salsa. They have the BEST salsa I've ever had. This was off of their lunch menu, and it totaled out to only being $12!! Nothing beats that!

Another of my favorite meal is the Chimichanga. It also has the shredded Tinga chicken in it, topped with queso and a side of refried beans and rice. It is priced at $12 before tax!!! These are fulfilling meals that come cheap and delicious.

Here are many more of their dishes that are fan favorites! They have all kinds of different dishes, from quesadillas to Sunday Brunch!

Here was my appetizer! It consisted of the good old Chips and Salsa! Their chips and salsa is my absolute favorite. No other Mexican restaurant has it as good as La Carreta. The salsa is a perfect spice with little chunks of raw onions (if you think you wouldn't like it, trust me, YOU WILL, because I thought the same thing), the perfect amount of cilantro and the absolute perfect consistency. The chips are on point as well! They are thin but crispy, add a little salt to them and they are perfect! Truly, the chips and salsa are my favorite!

Of course they have margaritas! Not only do they have them, but they have many different flavors and it's very popular here to mix your favorite two together to get a cute swirly drink! This place seriously has it all. And the best part about it, it's not even fine dining! The drinks are always top notch and there are so many different flavors to choose from. My favorite is mixing Strawberry with Coconut and Raspberry! Give me 14 of them!! They also offer many other alcoholic beverages such as:

Outdoor Dining

Who doesn't love a good view while they enjoy a meal? La Caretta is very popular for their outside dining area. There are tons of seating as well as for bigger parties! They also have two water fountains displayed nearby, which gives an even better feel to being outside. When it's cold outside, they turn on their heaters to keep you warm while you still enjoy the cool weather! The service is still phenomenal no matter where you are sitting in this place! There are so many amazing features and sites to see while you have lunch here!

This is near their front door. There are many tables to sit at if you want to sit outside! They also have a water fountain near this seating. It truly brings the peace and quiet to sitting outside.

La Carreta truly does have the most beautiful outdoor seating I've ever experienced! At least for a place that isn't super fancy. It sure does give off the vibe that it is! I've actually spent countless times eating on their patio during the day and at night! I've enjoyed myself every single time. They never miss!
